Brasilia group gasket
Brasilia espresso machine group gasket
Is your espresso machine leaking from around your portafilter? It might be time to change your filter holder gasket a.k.a group head gasket. This part creates a tight seal for your portafilter. Over time, the material of the gasket becomes hard and cracked with the heat from the group head. As a result a leaking of extracted coffee will be observed from around the portafilter when a shot is being dispensed.
Replacement of the group head seal is a maintenance task required on all espresso machines. The frequency that is required in changing this part depends on the usage of the machine so you can expect to change it every 3-6 months. It is recommended to have a spare one on hand.
Maintenance and prevention is important, so that you don’t let other parts dry out or corrode. As a reminder, make sure to always clean and descale your machine as well.
